Lili Haydn

Child prodigy classical violinist/actress turned GRAMMY winning jazz/rock violinist, singer, recording artist, film composer, Lili Haydn had a dream at 7 years old that she could play violin, but her mom and she were on welfare, so Lili started working as an actress to pay for her violin and education. She graduated from Brown University in Political Science and started jamming with bands, ultimately leading to her legendary collaborations with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Roger Waters, Sting, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Josh Groban, Robert Plant and Jimi Page for whom she opened on their entire last US tour, and George Clinton, who called her “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin.”

Haydn’s six critically acclaimed records have been favorites on Public Radio, and featured in TV and film, and described as “A mix of neo-psychedelic flower child and rock star virtuoso…Heifetz meet Hendrix.” Haydn has performed on the Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live, as well as all the major concert venues in the US and Internationally (Carnegie Hall, Disney Hall, Vienna Opera House, etc).

Lili’s fourth album, LiliLand, was released in late 2014, with the radio hit Sea of Gold, which was written in the aftermath of a freak chemical accident that caused brain damage and the loss of everything Lili owned. Lili described her miraculous recovery in a TEDx talk “How Music Saved My Brain” and went on to do 3 more TED presentations, the most recent of which has nearly 1 million views.

Lili’s latest record Opium Moon, a sensual and groovy collaboration of master musicians from Iran, Israel won a GRAMMY Award for best New Age Album and debuted at #6 on four Billboard top 10 charts, including World Music and Classical.

In addition to Lili’s recording and touring career, Lili’s music has been licensed for TV, film, and commercials, and she is the featured voice and violin on several films with Hans Zimmer, (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Burning Plain) among others.

Lili is also a film composer in her own right, with fifteen feature films to her scoring credit, additional music credits on several films, a Film Composing Fellowship to the Sundance Film Institute, and the award for Best Music at the Milan International Film Festival 2014.  Her film’s have been festival favorites, with credits that include The House That Jack Built, Sublime and Beautiful, ANITA (directed by Academy Award winner Freida Mock), Feminists: What Were They Thinking? Starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda (2018), additional music on the hit show Transparent (2017), and the Sundance Selects/IFC film DriverX, starring Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul) which was released this year theatrically and On Demand, with an accompanying soundtrack that has four new songs from Lili, including the infectious single Ain’t Like It Used To Be.

A humanitarian and activist, Lili also performs regularly for various human rights and social justice organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, the Global Security Institute (for whom she performed a concert at the UN), and AmeriCares.

Itai Disraeli, Music Producer

Itai Disraeli

Itai Disraeli  is a Grammy winning composer, bass player, producer, multi-instrumentalist and an educator. Itai begun playing piano at the age of 7 and moved to bass at 13. He founded the Israeli army jazz ensemble and performed, recorded and taught throughout Israel. Itai won the Bass Player of the year award in 1986. Itai cofounded the award winning band “From the other side”, touring Israel and recording three albums. After coming to the United States in 1991, Itai studies with renown jazz artists such as Al McKibbon, Art Davis, and James Newton toured the US with his swing quintet and performs regularly around Los Angeles with esteemed jazz artists, rock and funk bands. Itai recorded and played for artists Lili Haydn, Jackson Browne, George Brooks, Sussan Deyhim, James Gadson, toured India with Larry Coryel , Trilok Gurtu and Nishat Khan to name a few.

Itai’s main musical focus is in MAETAR, a band he cofounded and leads with his brother Hagai. Together they produce original music, perform regularly around Los Angeles, have released three CDs  and compose for Tv and film.

In 2018 Itai along with his ensemble Opium Moon won the Grammy for Best New age album both as artist and as a producer.

Itai’s fierce commitment to developing his sound and style lead him to many exciting musical journeys. From mid-east rhythms and scales to afro-beat grooves, funk ,jazz ,blues and rock, encored by an enduring commitment to have his music be a force for peace in the world. Itai’s bass playing simultaneously creates layers of rhythm, harmony, and melody, coaxing sounds out of his ’64 Fender Jazz Bass that electrify and move audiences His love of Indian music started his journey to the Bassitar- combining the styles and techniques of the sitar, surbahar and sarod with a 4string electric fretless bass. It is an exciting adventure that he continues to pursue.

Itai’s commitment to education is evident throughout his musical life, in Israel and in the US. He heads the music faculty at Wildwood secondary school, teaches privately students of all ages, and holds clinics in other area schools.
